The Snakefish Cup - The Ironman Title - The Shuriken Cup
Tim hoists the Shuriken Cup, CC 2009
The Ironman event (or stunt race) was created during the Saint Patrick's Day Slugout in 2009. It was thought up by Rob McCurdy the night before the races. A mock race was held that night, and Rob won, giving him naming rights for the cup. The next day a official race was held for the event. During the race, Rob traded the naming rights of the cup to his brother, Darren, in exchange for a few dollars of salary cap. Rob went on to win the race, but Darren got to name the cup. The physical cup was awarded for the first time to Dan Vogel during the 2009 Summer Smash - the name Darren had given it? The Shuriken Cup. This cup was awarded twice, the second time to Tim Hemmis who took it home to Mississippi with him after his 2009 Christmas Cup victory.
The cup was destroyed in transit on its way back to Pennsylvania for the 2010 Summer Slasher. Dan Vogel and Tim Hemmis have both been awarded the Ironman title, but no trophy along with it. The new trophy, designated the "Snakefish" trophy until it is named after someone or something, was picked out by Dan and will be awarded for the first time at the St. Patrick's Day Slugout.
